There were 98 golfers and 122 dinner guests at the 43rd annual Marty Mongoni golf outing held by the Kiwanis Club of the Five Towns at the Woodmere Club on July 18 that honored Kiwanis member Marty Schwartz.

A check-in brunch, a shotgun start, a putting contest, a round of golf, and a beat the pro challenge, along with cocktails, dinner, awards, raffles, coffee and dessert were all part of that Monday, where $41,000 was raised to support the scholarship money the club presents to Hewlett, Lawrence and Lynbrook high school students, the Five Towns Early Learning Center in Inwood, veterans programs and families who have kids suffering from medical issues. In addition, Five Towns Kiwanis is working with the Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association to create the Veterans Memorial Plaza at Broadway and West Broadway in Hewlett.
