Having a running good time in Inwood

Adults had the 5K run, the kids had a Pumpkin Tot Trot and their was fun and food for all at the 19th annual Inwood 5K run on at Inwood Park on Oct. 7. Proceeds from the event sponsors scholarships are given to graduating high school students who live in the Five Towns.

Two-hundred and thirty-five runners completed the 5K. Matthew Badamo of Floral Park finished first with a time of 16:19. Travis Wooten, 16, of Riverhead, placed second in 17:38, while Steven Ferraro, 20, of Hewlett was the first Five Towns resident to cross the finish line. His time was 18:18.

Woodmere resident Eric Engelman, 22, finished in fourth (18:23) and Inwood’s own Jose Postillo placed fifth (19:22). Carina Ferry, 40, of Long Beach was the first woman to finish. Her time was 20:55.
