The Wizard of Oz
Journey down that Yellow Brick Road when the beloved story springs to life in a musical romp, presented Plaza Theatrical Productions. All the ingredients that have made this story a perennial favorite are here: join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion as they make their way to Oz not knowing what awaits them. The adaptation, which includes Valley Stream’s Rob Neil as the Tin Man, features the music from the classic MGM movie. Share Dorothy’s epic adventure as she flees from the wicked witch and learns that there’s no place like home. The performance is followed by a meet-and-greet with the cast.
Saturday, Jan. 21, 11 a.m. $12. The Show Place, 222 Pettit Ave., Bellmore. (516) 599-6870 or www.plazatheatrical.com.

Observe these fascinating winter harbor seals during a leisurely beach walk to a location where as many as four species of seals can be seen. Along the way explore marine life and observe winter birds, accompanied by a naturalist.
Saturday, Jan. 21, 10:30 a.m. $4, $3 ages 3-17. Space is limited and reservations are required. Meet at Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center, West End Field 1. Jones Beach, Wantagh. (516) 780-3295 or 785-3614.
