Police ask for public’s help in Lawrence burglary

Nassau County police and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the two men alleged to have burglarized the Popeye’s restaurant at 679 Rockaway Turnpike in Lawrence on Jan. 18 at 6:10 a.m., according to police.
The back door of the eatery was pried open, but the men were unsuccessful in opening the business’s safe. The sports utility vehicle in the photo is the one they used to leave the scene, police said.
Anyone with information about these men are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-(800) 244-8477. All calls are kept confidential and there is an award, up to $5,000, for information that leads to an arrest.
