Up to eight inches of snow fell in the Five Towns on Thursday following another winter storm.
According to the National Weather Service,temperatures will drop into the teens causing hazardous,icy road conditions Thursday night into Friday morning.
Villages in the area such as Lawrence and Cedarhurst had workers out salting and plowing throughout the day.
The weather forced the closure of the Hewlett-Woodmere and Lawrence school districts, Lawrence Woodmere Academy and the Hebrew Academy for Special Children, both in Woodmere, the Five Towns Early Learning Center in Inwood and the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library is also closed.
