Armed men break into Cedarhurst house

Hewlett man arrested

Jason Shure, 19, of Hewlett was arrested for multiple charges on July 24, officials said. According to detectives, after getting into an argument with two men at the Woodmere Dock, Shure pointed a pellet gun and demanded money from the victims.

After the victims fled, Shure drove to one of the victim's grandmother's house where he fired three shots and broke three windows while she was home at 3:35 p.m. No one was injured and police officers located Shure on Browers Point Avenue where he was arrested for robbery-second degree, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment-second degree and possession of a dangerous weapon-fourth degree. Armed men break into Cedarhurst home

At least four, if not five armed and disguised men broke into a Cedarhurst home on West Broadway at 1:15 a.m. on July 22, police said. All the victims, 11 men and one woman, were ordered to lie on the floor as the armed men took cell phones, jewelry, and cash from both the victims' pockets and two safes.

One of the victim’s suffered minor injuries after being kicked before the subjects fled from the home. Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477.

Arrests in Inwood robbery

Kimani Jones, 18, of Martin Court, and Joseph Vives, of Deerfield Road, 18, both of Far Rockaway, were arrested in North Woodmere at 9:10 p.m. on July 22, for the alleged robbery of a pedestrian's silver necklace in Inwood at 8:25 p.m. on July 21.

After assaulting the victim, the two men escaped in a light colored Ford Edge with a New Jersey license plate until they were spotted and taken into custody the following evening.

Vives was charged with robbery-second degree and false impersonation and his partner Jones, was charged with robbery-second and third degree as he also is alleged to have robbed a woman in Lawrence on July 20. Both men were arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on July 23.
