Police arrested Rory Watkins, of 135 Bermuda St., in Atlantic Beach, on Jan. 22 at 4:30 p.m., for the alleged robbery of a man who went to Watkins’ house to buy a motorcycle.

When the 28-year-old man got to Watkins’ home on Jan. 22, Watkins allegedly pulled out a black handgun and demanded money from the man, police said.

The man gave Watkins an unspecified amount of money and a prescription bottle of Oxycodone pills that were in his pocket, according to police. The man then ran out of the house and contacted the police.

Following their investigation and gaining consent to search the home, police recovered the money and the handgun, along with a shotgun and rifle, and Diazapam pills. Watkins was arrested without incident. There were no injuries.

Watkins was charged with robbery first-degree, criminal use of a firearm first-degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon fourth-degree. His arraignment was at First District Court in Hempstead on Jan. 23.
