Award winners to be presented at Peninsula Counseling Center's ‘A Tasteful Evening’

Valley Stream-based Peninsula Counseling Center will be recognizing five award winners at its annual fall fundraiser, “A Tasteful Evening” on Oct. 21 at the Woodmere Club in PCC, which began in Lawrence, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

The award winners are Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, Linda Gioia, vice president of the PCC Auxiliary, East Rockaway residents Wendie and Joey Ciociari and Jaime Wysocki, president of the Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association and a Woodmere business owner.

Rice will received the Woman of Distinction award, Gioia will be honored with the Woman of the Year award, Wendie and Joey Ciociari with the Humanitarian Award and Wysocki with the award for Outstanding Leadership.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to supporting quality mental health and chemical dependence services for those in need. It will feature more than 30 restaurants, bakeries, dessert shops and vintners presenting their signature desserts, along with raffles and jewelry sales.
