Baking hamantashen at Five Towns Chabad

More than 100 men, women and children took part in the Jewish Discovery program “Just Dough It” at the Chabad of the Five Towns last Sunday. The family-oriented event provided everyone with an opportunity to make hamantashen the traditional three-cornered cookie for the Purim holiday.

The easy to follow recipe also allowed for a variety of filling option ranging from pumpkin to brownie dough and much more. Tie-dye dough made a successful debut in the Five Towns.

Bakers wore the provided chefs’ hats and aprons and carefully measured their ingredients and rolled out the dough. “The bake-off was an experience for all the families and the children,” said Trinette Gormezano, a Hebrew School mother.

“Parents that didn’t know reach other came together and all had a great time! Every Sunday is a learning experience for all the kids at Chabad Five Towns Hebrew School, and always done in a gun way.”
