Big Blue rallies again, wins Super Bowl XLVI

For the second time in four years, the New York Giants upset the New England Patriots in the NFL’s championship game as the Giants came from behind to win 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI.

Four years ago, Big Blue were huge underdogs to the unbeaten Patriots, but a late fourth quarter touchdown lifted them to a 17-14 victory. Once again, quarterback Eli Manning engineered a late rally that was capped with a 6-yard TD run by Ahmad Bradshaw.

Both comebacks were highlighted by great catches. In 2008, David Tyree pinned the ball to his helmet and two plays later the Giants scored. This time, Manning connected with wide receiver Mario Manningham for a 38-yard gain that propelled the winning drive. Also for the second time, Manning was named the game’s MVP.
