Posted

With the traditional bonfire, chestnuts roasted on an open fire, hot chocolate and flashlights in hand to read the song sheets, holiday revelers gathered in Andrew J. Parise Cedarhurst Park for the village’s annual Christmas celebration and tree lighting that included singing seasonal tunes led by the Parishes of the Five Towns Choir, last Saturday. The choir includes singers from St. Joachim R.C. Church in Cedarhurst, of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Hewlett and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Inwood.
Father Thomas M. Moriarty, the pastor of St. Joseph’s and Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, along with Rev. Mary L. Chang, the pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Incarnation Cedarhurst, led the event.
