Chabad's preschool graduation celebrated

Students of the Chabad of the Five Towns Gan Chamesh Early Childhood Center took part in the annual parade outside the Maple Avenue center in Cedarhurst to celebrate their graduation last Friday.
The preschool, which is also holds classes in Woodmere has six classes of children ranging in age from 2- to 5-years-old. Applying the Reggio Emilia approach to education, the teachers use hands-on learning and the natural curiosity of children to ask questions to spur their interest in an array of subjects.
Shirts representing the colors of their room — green 5-year-olds; blue and yellow 3- to-4-year-olds; purple and red 2- to3-year-olds and orange 2-year-old — were worn by the kids as they marched out in front of family and friends with the prayer books in hand they were given to commemorate the parade’s theme of Tefillos — daily Jewish prayers.
Everyone then made their way down Maple Avenue for ices before going back in the center to collect the students diplomas.
