Five Towns students who were named semifinalists and a finalist in the Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology and Intel Science Talent Search contests were recognized by the Town of Hempstead at a town board meeting on Feb. 8.
Lawrence High School seniors Ashley Chapin (a Siemens Regional finalist) and Abraham Killanin (both a Siemens and Intel semifinalist) and junior Sam Sussman (a Siemens semifinalist), Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway senior Jeremy Sacks (a Siemens semifinalist) and Rambam Mesivta High School senior Nathan Akhavan (an Intel semifinalist) received town citations.
