Hewlett High School students sang Christmas songs at the tree lighting on Dec. 1 in Hewlett.
The Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association community-supported Christmas tree lighting took place at the Triangle in Hewlett by Broadway and West Broadway on Dec. 1. Hot chocolate, candy canes and cookies were available as holiday dreams were spurred by a visit from Santa Claus who heard the sounds of singers from Hewlett High School, prayers from Father Eric Fasano of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Inwood and Father John Christopher Ballard of Trinity-St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hewlett. The Knights of Columbus Father Farrell Council 5962 donated the all new lights for the tree.
