Arrests

INWOOD-Naiquan Tolliver, 26, of Beach Channel Drive, Far Rockaway, was arrested on Nov. 26 at 4:30 p.m. for a shooting incident that occurred on Nov. 20 at 12:35 p.m., police said.

Tolliver rode his bicycle in front of a residence on Mott Avenue and yelled in a threatening manner for a person he thought was inside the house to come out, according to police.

Then he allegedly fired three shots from a .25 caliber handgun in the direction of the house as rode away on the bicycle, witnesses said. None of the shots struck the house and no one was injured.

Uniformed officers on Sheridan Boulevard saw Tolliver and after a short foot pursuit last Friday, he was arrested. He is charged with two counts of criminal possession of weapon-second degree, criminal use of a firearm-second degree, reckless endangerment-first degree and two counts of criminal possession.

NORTH LAWRENCE-Winston Daley, 65, of North Lawrence was arrested for menacing on Nov. 13 at 7:15 p.m. Daley, who rents an upstairs apartment on Mott Avenue, screamed, cursed and threatened his landlord with a knife, police said.

NORTH LAWRENCE-Police arrested Clifford Schaefer, 49, for criminal possession of stolen property-fifth degree on Rockaway Turnpike at 4:50 p.m. on Nov. 16.

INWOOD-Nicole Cunningham, a/k/a Nicole Frank was arrested recently from a residence on Mott Avenue for grand larceny. Since May, she is alleged to have made 40 unauthorized withdrawals from the bank account of her ex-boyfriend’s mother, according to police.

LAWRENCE-Ervin Jones, 22 and James Nance, 22, both of Far Rockaway, were arrested at Broadway and Sutton Place at 3:54 a.m. on Nov. 16. The pair was found in possession of stolen items such as a woman’s pocketbook, an iPod, headphones, sunglasses and clothing, according to police.

WOODMERE-At the intersection of Peninsula and Branch boulevards on Nov. 21 at 2:10 p.m., Wayne Spruill, 27, of Southwick, Mass., was arrested for vehicular traffic violations. Spruill was driving a 2001 Nissan Maxima at a high rate of speed and failed to secure his 22-month old child in a safety seat, police said.

WOODMERE-Yosef Liebowitz, 22, of Woodmere was arrested on Centre Street at 10:50 a.m. on Nov. 18 for possession of a forged instrument-second degree. An incident that occurred on June 10.

Commercial burglary

NORTH LAWRENCE-On Nov. 14 at 2 p.m., it was reported that $400 was taken from several arcade machines in a store on Lawrence Avenue, authorities said.

Vehicular criminal

mischief

NORTH LAWRENCE-Three passenger-side mirrors from a trio of cars parked on Burnside Avenue (2008 Saturn, 2005 Lincoln and 2002 Nissan Altima) were taken on Nov. 22 at 6 p.m., officials said.

Criminal mischief to buildings

HEWLETT-Two locks, one from a front gate and another from a secondary gate, were cut at 11 p.m. on Nov. 13 on Broadway, police said.

INWOOD-The letters of a sign were damaged and rearranged on Doughty Boulevard on Nov. 20 at 5 p.m., according to police.

Criminal trespass

CEDARHURST-The ex-boyfriend of the homeowner’s daughter, who had previously lived in the unattached garage, showed at the residence on Linwood Avenue at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 22, though he was told to stay away from the property, authorities said.

CEDARHURST-Harry Schmidt, 60, of Valley Stream, was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Nov. 19 at 6:50 p.m. at the intersection of Central and Locust avenues. Schmidt was driving his 2004 Nissan and struck the rear of a 2006 Cadillac, officials said. The driver of the Cadillac was treated at South Nassau Communities Hospital.

Larceny auto

CEDARHURST-A 2006 Acura parked in the rear of a residence on Fair Oaks Place was stolen at 10 a.m. on Nov. 13, police said.

INWOOD-The manager of a rental car company on Burnside Avenue said at 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 22, that a 24-year-old driver never returned the 2009 Hyundai Sonata and didn’t respond to phone calls or letters to her address, according to police.

INWOOD-A 2010 Honda Civic was stolen at the intersection of Jeanette and Morris Avenue on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m., authorities said.

Grand larceny

NORTH WOODMERE-All four tires and rims were stolen from a 2009 Toyota on Cedarhurst Street at 6 p.m. on Nov. 15, police said.

HEWLETT-Assorted tools and supplies were taken from a utility yard at the intersection on West Broadway and Serena Road on Nov. 12 at 2 p.m., according to police.

CEDARHURST-A touch-screen computer was stolen from a locked storage closest in a building on Reilly Road at 6 p.m. on Oct. 6, authorities said.

LAWRENCE-After selling a Rolex watch via the Internet, the Ocean Avenue complainant reported on Nov. 16 at 9 a.m., that a fraudulent check was wired to his bank account, officials said.

LAWRENCE-Assorted jewelry was stolen from a home on Bayberry Road on Nov. 18 at 8:30 p.m., police said.

WOODMERE-The door of a room in a residence on Fordham Lane was found pried open and a variety of jewelry was missing, according to police.

LAWRENCE-A camera, GPS and an unspecified amount of cash was stolen from a 2009 Lexus parked in a driveway on Causeway Road at 7 p.m. on Nov. 19, officials said.

INWOOD-A pocketbook that was on a shelf of a store on Burnside Avenue was stolen on Nov. 19 at 5:45 p.m., authorities said.

Petit larceny

HEWLETT-A man reportedly removed assorted merchandise from a store on Peninsula Boulevard and fled in a dark blue Volvo at 3:16 p.m. on Nov. 23, officials said.

NORTH WOODMERE-Police reported at 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 23, that the lug nuts of a 2010 Infiniti on Newburgh Avenue were missing and large rocks were placed near the tires, police said.

WOODMERE-The rear passenger side tire and a rim from a 2009 Nissan Maxima were stolen on Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. on Emerson Street, according to police.

INWOOD-A 90-foot piece of copper gutter was reported missing from the rear of a building on Burnside Avenue at noon on Nov. 12, authorities said.

Larceny from auto

LAWRENCE-A garage door opener and an unspecified amount of cash was stolen from a 2008 Lexus on Harborview South at 9 p.m. on Nov. 14, officials said.

LAWRENCE-A GPS was taken from a 2001 Buick on Broadway at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16, police said.

Recovered auto

INWOOD-A 2006 Ford reported stolen from New York City was found at the intersection of Grove Street and Bayview Avenue at 3:38 p.m. on Nov. 15, authorities said.

Fires

HEWLETT-A fire that began in the kitchen sink garbage disposal of a home on East Broadway extinguished by the Hewlett Fire Department at 11:20 a.m. on Nov. 23, officials said.

NORTH LAWRENCE-A 1993 Toyota Camry ignited on Rockaway Turnpike on Nov. 20 at 11:46 p.m. The driver and passenger pulled into a gas station for help, police said.
