CEDARHURST-Fourth Squad detectives arrested a Whitestone, Queens teenager for a burglary in Cedarhurst on Dec. 7.

Jonathan Polansky, 16, of 1538A 150th Place, entered Sunflowers Hats and Accessories at 445 Central Ave. through the front door and took $500 in cash from a metal lock box, $150 from the cash register and $100 in cash from several envelopes near the cash register, a laptop and costume jewelry valued at approximately $150 and placed everything in a brown paper bag, police said.

Polansky then went to the second floor of the building and entered the front door of suite 201 that houses a business called Study Logic. When inside, he put assorted items belonging to employees in a box, according to police.

He was confronted by two people, dropped the box and fled the building. A short time later, uniformed officers responded to a call regarding an intoxicated man at Kings Grill at 140 Washington Ave. in Cedarhurst.

The officers found Polansky in possession of the money from Sunflowers Hats and Accessories. He was arrested and taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. Polansky was charged with two counts of burglary-third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

INWOOD-A 2006 Ford reported stolen from New York City was found at the intersection of Grove Street and Bayview Avenue at 3:38 p.m. on Nov. 15, authorities said.

Fires

HEWLETT-A fire that began in the kitchen sink garbage disposal of a home on East Broadway extinguished by the Hewlett Fire Department at 11:20 a.m. on Nov. 23, officials said.

NORTH LAWRENCE-A 1993 Toyota Camry ignited on Rockaway Turnpike on Nov. 20 at 11:46 p.m. The driver and passenger pulled into a gas station for help, police said.
