Displaying their antique car passion

Passionate car fans from across Long Island and Queens came to the Rock Hall Museum in Lawrence for the Queens County Region Antique Car Show, hosted by the Queens Chapter of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America on June 23.

Two dozen cars were judged at Sunday’s event, while passionate fans checked out the vintage cars. “I love historic cars, especially from the ’50s and ’60s,” said Pat Corrigan, of Hicksville. “We grew up with these cars and are now reliving and reminiscing their glory days,” he added. Lynbrook resident Harry Verity won the car show with his 1930 Chevy Roadster. “I’ve had a love for cars since I was 18, when I bought my first car — a Ford Crown Victoria,” he said.

Fans particularly enjoyed the antique Corvettes and Chevelles. “My passion for antique cars stems from my uncle, whom I helped build his 1970 Chevelle, which was judged today,” said Raffaele Pupa, 14, of Island Park.
