Light Rain Driver seriously hurt in vehicle overturn on Central Avenue

A sport utility vehicle overturned and crashed into a car at the intersection of Central and Lord avenues in Lawrence on Aug. 3. The driver of the SUV was seriously injured.

A sport utility vehicle lost control when traveling west on Central Avenue in Lawrence, then struck a car at the intersection by Lord Avenue and overturned, trapping the driver on Aug. 3 at 10 p.m., according to police and fire officials on the scene.
The driver of the SUV was removed from the vehicle and taken to Jamaica Hospital with serious injuries. Central Avenue was closed for some time due to the accident. Lawrence-Cedarhurst firefighters and Nassau County police responded to the scene.
