DRS student takes first in county contest

Avi Bulka, a junior at Davis Renov Stahler Yeshiva High School for Boys in Woodmere, was a first place winner in Nassau County’s third annual Drug Alternative Public Service Announcement competition that included high school students throughout the county.

Bulka and other winners were recognized for their work and received citations during a ceremony at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola on April 20. His winning entry in the depression category was “Why Drugs?”
