Three men who were duck hunting in a marsh in Hewlett Harbor had to be rescued by the Nassau County Police Department  after a “large gust of wind blew their boat away leaving them stranded,” near 7 p.m. on Jan. 28, police said.

The department’s Nassau County Marine Bureau received a call from a man who said he was duck hunting with two other individuals on a marsh. A NCPD boat and helicopter responded, found the men, got them on the police boat and took them back to shore. The men’s boat was taken back by a friend. There were no injuries, police said.
