Five Towns firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire on Easter Sunday in a house on Cedarhurst Avenue in Cedarhurst.

On Easter Sunday, April 1, the Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Hewlett, Inwood, Meadowmere Park and Woodmere fire departments responded to 316 Cedarhurst Ave., in Cedarhurst, at 5:33 p.m.
Firefighters found the kitchen ablaze. A pair of hose lines were quickly stretched and extinguished the fire, according to officials at the scene who were under the command of LCFD Chief David Campbell. No injuries were reported and all units had left the scene within an hour. Nassau County police and the county fire marshal also responded to the scene. A cause of the fire was unknown at press time.
