Lawrence Association makes its endorsements

Lawrence Village Trustee candidates Simon Felder and David Stein have been endorsed by the Lawrence Association. The civic group is also endorsing mayoral candidate Martin Oliner, who is running unopposed in the June 15 Lawrence village election. The Lawrence Association announced its endorsements at the civic group's May 12 meeting held at Lawrence Village Country Club. The other two candidates for trustee, including incumbent Ed Klar and Faye Lowinger, did not interview with the Lawrence Association, according to Alan Blass, who heads the civic group's Nominating Committee.

Just prior to the June 15 election the Lawrence Association will host a Meet the Candidates forum at the country club that will be sponsored by the League of Women Voters. This year is the first contested election in the Village of Lawrence since 2003, when Joel Mael unseated Trustee Howard Siskind.
