Far Rockaway man sentenced to 50 years for 2009 shooting

Paul Williams killed one man, wounded a Cedarhurst resident

The man who killed Ronald Washington of Far Rockaway and wounded Todd Jamison of Cedarhurst after firing 29 rounds into a crowd in September 2009 was sentenced to 50 years in prison.

Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown announced the sentence for Paul Williams of Far Rockaway on July 26.

Washington was fatally hit four times in the upper torso. Jamison had to have his knee amputated above the knee.

Williams was arrested five months after the shooting in North Carolina, where is was taken into custody by the Mecklenburg County sheriff’s office in Charlotte.
