A Far Rockaway woman who allegedly locked her infant daughter inside of a car in Lawrence was arrested by police and charged with endangering the welfare of a child at 3 p.m. on July 11.

Shaneqa Mason, 22, of Aztec Place, allegedly left the 1-year-old girl locked in a 1997 Toyota Camry for approximately 15 minutes while she shopped in a store on Rockaway Turnpike.

A passerby saw the child in the car and called police. A Nassau County ambulance responded to the scene and an advanced medical technician examined the girl.

Mason is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Hempstead on July 25.
