A Thanksgiving Day cooking fire caused the partial collapse of the second floor of a house at 575 Peninsula Boulevard in Cedarhurst, according to Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Chief John McHugh.

The call came at 8:57 p.m., and firefighters from Hewlett, Inwood, Meadowmere Park, Woodmere and Valley Stream fire departments also responded, McHugh said.

Three firefighters suffered minor burns. One was taken to Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre and was treated and released. The other two were treated at the scene. None of the occupants were injured. “The fire was under control in an hour and we secured the scene by 1 a.m., McHugh said, adding the Nassau County Fire Marshal determined the fire was accidental.
