Attempted Robbery

NORTH WOODMERE-Jonathan Cedillos, 16, of Inwood and Osvaldo Bonilla, 19, of Far Rockaway were arrested on Saturday. Cedillos arranged to meet an 18-year-old victim at North Woodmere Park and exchange a SIM card for a cell phone. The two met on Glenridge Avenue and were approached by Bonilla who demanded the victim’s phone.

The victim ran and was pulled to the ground by Cedillos. Bonilla then began punching the victim in the face before the two defendants fled the scene without the cell phone. Both defendants are charged with two counts of Attempted Robbery second degree and were arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Grand larceny

ATLANTIC BEACH-On May 3 at 10 p.m., an Ocean Boulevard resident reported a watch, television and autographed jerseys missing from their residence, police said.

HEWLETT- Authorities said a security guard reported an unknown subject cut a hole in a chain link fence and attempted to remove copper wire from a yard owned by LIPA on May 7 at 1 p.m.

NORTH LAWRENCE- An unknown person was observed stealing items from a Rockaway Boulevard business on May 7 at 1 p.m., officials said.

Larceny

HEWELTT-Rafael Mulhall, 25, of Far Rockaway was arrested for theft at a Peninsula Boulevard business, according to police.

Criminal Mischief

HEWLETT-Officials said the driver’s side window of vehicle parked on Willard Drive was reported shattered on May 7 at 9 p.m.

HEWLETT BAY PARK-Damage was reported to a marked auxiliary police vehicle while it was parked on Macy Drive and Cedar Avenue on May 7 at 5 p.m., police said.

HEWLETT HARBOR-Authorities said the side and front window of a vehicle parked on Seawane Lane were reported broken on May 7 at 8 p.m.

CEDARHURST–A victim reported their vehicle sustained a broken door handle and mirror while parked at the train station on May 8 at 8 p.m., officials said.

Identity Theft

LAWRENCE-Police said a Broadway resident reported being the victim of identity theft when a JC Penney credit card was fraudulently opened in their name on April 28 at 12 p.m.
