VALLEY STREAM-Police arrested two men on July 28 for the alleged robbery of a Valley Stream man that occurred three days earlier.

The man, 20, was at his Stuart Road home, when Mark Gobetz, 19, of Broadway in Hewlett, an acquaintance, got him to the rear yard of the house at 10 a.m., where Jahkim Marson, 18, of Seabury Street in Westbury, confronted the victim and told him he had a gun, police said.

Marson then removed car keys from the victim’s pocket and went into his 1998 Oldsmobile, and took a wallet containing an unspecified amount of cash, according to police. Marson then led the man back into the house and ransacked the bedrooms taking an iPod and Xbox 360 game console, police said. Marson told the victim to pay Gobetz $20 a week or they would return.

Gobetz and Marson left in a black 2000 BMW. On Thursday, Fifth Squad detectives arrested both men at their homes. They are charged with robbery-first degree, burglary-first degree, robbery-second degree and attempted grand larceny-second degree. They were arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.

INWOOD-Police arrested Marcell Haynes, 16 of Augustina Street, on July 28 for his part in an alleged assault that occurred on July 12.

Haynes and two other men approached a 19-year-old man in the courtyard of 385 Bayview Ave. in Inwood at 3:10 p.m. that day, police said. The ensuing argument became physical as Haynes and the two other men punched and kicked the victim to the ground, according to police. Haynes allegedly fired four shots from a silver handgun, but none struck the victim.

All three fled the scene on foot and the victim refused medical attention, police said.

After finding Haynes in county court in Mineola regarding another crime police arrested him. He is charged with attempted assault-first degree, criminal possession of a weapon-second degree, assault-second degree and reckless endangerment-first degree. Haynes was also charged with additional unrelated crimes from an open warrant. He was arraigned at First District

NORTH WOODMERE-Maurielle Lubin, 33, of North Woodmere, was arrested for theft of merchandise valued at $279.99 from a store on Green Acres Road at 1:25 p.m. on July 24.

INWOOD-Jarrot Jones, 21, of North Carolina, was arrested for criminal possession of a weapon after authorities found him getting into a vehicle on Merrill Street with a gun protruding from out of his front pants pocket at 3:41 p.m. on July 27. The firearm’s serial number had been removed, police said.

Jones was charged with criminal possession of a weapon-second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon-third degree and was arraigned on July 28 at First District Court in Hempstead.
