Arrests

HEWLETT – Sydney Abraham, 22 of 234th Street in Queens, was arrested for robbery-second degree, burglary-second degree, two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument-second degree and two counts of identity theft-second degree on Jan. 6 at 6 p.m.

Police said Abraham presented several forged credit and gift cards for payment at the CVS Pharmacy at 1220 Blvd. in Hewlett. After the cards were rejected, a store employee became suspicious and called the police.

Abraham then went behind the counter and attacked the 22-year-old woman employee, which resulted in an injury to her back, according to police. Two colleagues attempted to restrain Abraham, and they were also injured. The three CVS employees were taken to a local hospital and treated for their injuries.

NORTH WOODMERE – Lies M. Gonzalez, 20, of Brooklyn was arrested for shoplifting merchandise valued at $100.47 from a department store on Rockaway Turnpike at 5 p.m. on Dec. 29. Gonzalez allegedly took a crystal pendant, two bottles of perfume and a pair of slippers, police said.

HEWLETT – Christina L. Hatzfeld, 19, of Oceanside was arrested for driving while intoxicated at the intersection of Mill Road and Chestnut Drive at 2:48 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Robbery

CEDARHURST – An armed man approached a 58-year-old woman in front of her home on Adele Road at 6 p.m. on Jan. 3 and grabbed her purse, which contained cash and credit cards, from her shoulder and then left in a gray pick-up truck, police said.

The woman wasn’t injured. The man is described as Hispanic, between 40 and 45 years old, clean shaven with a stocky build and wearing a hat or hood.

Larceny

CEDARHURST – A pair of sunglasses and assorted DVDs were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Roselle Avenue between 12:01 and 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 30, police said.

Criminal Mischief

ATLANTIC BEACH – Three tires on a vehicle parked on Park Street were punctured between 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 29 and 9 a.m. on Dec. 30, authorities said.

WOODMERE- Between 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 1 and 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 2, the gate of a school on Peninsula Boulevard was damaged, officials said.

Identity theft

HEWLETT – A resident of Broadway reported on Dec. 23 being the victim of identity theft when multiple transactions were made to a Capital One debit card, police said.
