Man robbed at gunpoint in Cedarhurst

A man allegedly attacked and robbed a young man on June 28, at 12:35 a.m., in Cedarhurst, police said.

The 18-year-old man was walking home on Washington Avenue when the alleged attacker jumped on the young man’s back, which caused him to fall to the ground, according to police.

The man displayed a dark-colored hand gun and removed an undetermined amount of money and a cell phone from the young man’s pockets, before fleeing by foot east on Oak Avenue, police said. No injuries were reported.

The alleged thief is described as black, 6-feet tall, with a slim build, wearing white tank top, dark pants, and a dark mask.

Larceny

CEDARHURST - An iPod was stolen from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked on Grant Place on June 24 at 6 a.m., police said.

 

Criminal mischief

WOODMERE - The windshield and driver’s door of a vehicle were damaged while it was parked on Combs Avenue between 6 p.m. on June 22 and 7 a.m. on June 23, according to police.

  INWOOD - A brown liquid was thrown onto the roof and driver’s side doors of a vehicle while it was parked on Norton Street, between 10 p.m. on June 22 and 9 a.m. on June 23, authorities said.
