Arrests

INWOOD- Two men were arrested last month and charged with the attempted murder of an Inwood man, 23, that occurred in February, police said.

Erick Pelaez, 27, of Lawrence Avenue in Lawrence, and Sergio Acosta, 18, of Henry Street in Inwood, and another man, who has yet to apprehended, were in the Carisma Domincana Restaurant on Mott Avenue in Lawrence, and seen in the eatery by the 23-year-old on Feb. 23, according to police.

When walking to his Clinton Avenue home the man was allegedly attacked by the three men at 4:18 a.m., that same day. First they hit him, then dragged behind another residence on Clinton Avenue and stabbed him several times, police said.

The men then fled on foot. The stabbed man was taken to a local hospital and was admitted. He suffered stab wounds to his throat, arm and legs.

Pelaez was found by police on Mott Avenue in Lawrence on May 4 at 2:21 p.m. and was arrested without incident. Acosta was arrested at his home on May 31 at 10:30 p.m.

Both men are charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree gang assault and fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon.

INWOOD- Six young adults, including two Inwood residents, were arrested after they allegedly burglarized the Landmark Deli at 148 Doughty Blvd. on May 28, police said.

Fourth Precinct officers and found that the group of teens and one 20-year-old entered the store through a broken side window and stole several packs of cigarettes, cigars and juices. The burglary occurred at 3:11 a.m., according to police.

Following their investigation, police arrested Christine Autry, 19, and Andrea Autry, 16, both of Lord Avenue in Inwood; Jasmine Brownlee, 18, of Miller Avenue in Brooklyn; Patrick Gaudin, 18, of 89th Avenue in Jamaica; Jephry Francois, 16, of 253rd Street and Oraine Dauswell, 20 of 231st, both of Rosedale.

All are being charged with third-degreeburglary.

LAWRENCE- Zoe Gordon, 44, of Brooklyn, was arrested for shoplifting from a warehouse store on Rockaway Turnpike at 3:15 p.m. on May 22, according to police.

HEWLETT- Diane Samuel, 51, of Far Rockaway, was arrested for shoplifting from a clothing store on Broadway at 6 p.m. on May, authorities said.

INWOOD- Manuel Flores, 45, of Inwood, was arrested for driving while intoxicated at the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Pearl Street at 9:35 p.m. on May 23, officials said.

HEWLETT- Jami Nebenzahl, 18, of East Rockaway, was arrested for driving while intoxicated at the intersection of Union Avenue and East Rockaway Road at 2:04 a.m. on May 27, police said.

Burglary

WOODMERE- Homeowners on Michelle Place returned home on June 1 at 11 a.m. and found the front door of their house open and a safe, an unspecified amount of jewelry and bonds were taken from a bedroom, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident that occurred between May 31 and June 1 to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477.

Petit larceny

CEDARHURST- A bicycle was stolen from a shed in the back of a house on Albemarle Road between May 9 at 10 p.m. and May 12 at 8 a.m., according to police.

INWOOD- Two bicycle tires were taken from a bike at the train station at the intersection of Doughty Boulevard and Redfern Avenue between 7:50 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on May 27, authorities said.
