Woodmere home burglarized

A house on South End in Woodmere was ransacked and assorted property was stolen between 6 and 11 p.m. on May 17, according to police.

Entering through a bedroom window with no one home, the person or people fled through a rear door and yards towards South End Court, police said. The homeowner called police after finding the house looted.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477.

Arrests

HEWLETT-Michael E. Smith, 50, of Far Rockaway was arrested for shoplifting from a chain pharmacy store on Peninsula Boulevard at 1:50 p.m. on May 11, police said.

WOODMERE-Travis J. Blackwell, 24, of Woodmere, was arrested for possession of marijuana at the intersection of Cedar Lane and Irving Place at 7 p.m. on May 10, according to police.

Larceny from auto

ATLANTIC BEACH-A man reported that assorted items were taken from his unlocked vehicle parked on Bermuda Street between 1 p.m. on May 7 and 1:30 p.m. on May 8, the authorities said.

LAWRENCE-Between 11 p.m. on May 8 and 6 a.m. on May 9, property was stolen from two vehicles parked on New McNeil Avenue, officials said.

Criminal mischief to auto

CEDARHURST-A woman reported that her vehicle was scratched with a key on Pearsall Avenue between 11 p.m. on May 9 and 9 a.m. on May 10, police said.
