Five Towns fire district election results

Fire district elections in the Five Towns took place on Tuesday and the results for Atlantic Beach, Inwood, Hewlett Bay and Woodmere fire districts are in.

In Atlantic Beach, John Faulhaber beat Darryl Blue 139-63, for the 5-year term as one of the fire district's commissioners.

Charles Borfitz defeated Anthony Rivelli Sr, 246-139 for a 5-year commissioner's post. The proposition to establish a capital reserve fund to purchase department radio was approved by a 104-15 count.

In Hewlett Bay Fire District, Mark Lorberbaum ran unopposed for a 5-year term and garnered 39 votes. Lorberbaum replaces Nick Martino, who is retiring after 35 years of service. Paul Breslin, who also ran unchallenged, collected 34 votes for a 3-year term. Breslin filled the vacancy created when a commissioner stepped down in September.

Erik Kinney,who has served seven years as a Woodmere commissioner gained his second 5-year term with 47 votes. He previously stepped in for a commissioner who stepped down.

Though there was no official candidate opposing Kinney, write-in candidate Phil Stein, a Woodmere firefighter, received 31 votes.
