The Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Hewlett, Inwood, Meadowmere and Woodmere fire departments participated in the 3rd Battalion parade last Saturday evening in Valley Stream.
More than two dozen fire departments from across Nassau County and New York state took part in the event. The parade celebrated the 100th anniversary of Engine Company No. 1 from the Valley Stream Fire Department.
