Five Towns Kiwanis, Lynbrook students key scholarship fundraising

The Kiwanis Club of the Five Towns and the Lynbrook High School Key Club collaborated to host a pancake breakfast at the high school that raised $1,000 on Oct. 17.
Splitting the money evenly between the two organizations, Kiwanis will use its share to support the Giacomo “Tony” Campanile Scholarship fund, which will be given annually to graduating seniors at Hewlett, Lawrence and Lynbrook high schools.
Campanile, a past Kiwanis president, died in July. His civic spirit was not forgotten as his grandchildren and other relatives as well as 15 Lynbrook students and Kiwanis members took part in helping with the Saturday event.
