A half dozen Five Towns residents were honored for their achievements on the court by the U.S. Tennis Association/Eastern Section/Long Island Region at its 21st annual awards dinner in Woodbury on May 11.
Recognized for their tennis skills were: Dylan Ander of Hewlett, No. 1 in boys 16s; Barry Brahver of Lawrence, No. 1 in men’s doubles 50s and no. 2 in men’s doubles 55s; David J. Brent of Woodmere, No. 1 in men’s doubles 55s; Ruth Freilich of Lawrence, No. 2 in girls 16; Shlomi Gutman of Hewlett, No 1 in both men’s 3.5 and 4.0 singles and Rodolfo F. Novello of Lawrence, No. 2 in men’s singles 30s.
