The Friends of Rock Hall presented certificates of excellence to five students that excelled in academics and community service during its annual meeting in June.

Rock Hall Museum is a Town of Hempstead attraction located at 199 Broadway in Lawrence. Built in 1767 for Josiah Martin, a wealthy West Indian plantation owner, it was also home to the Hewletts. In 1948, the Hewlett family deeded Rock Hall to the town and after an extensive restoration, it opened as a museum in 1953.

The Friends of Rock Hall is a voluntary organization that works closely with the museum to sponsor programs. The Friends also raise money to purchase furnishings and sponsor historic research.
