Cars lined up from the corner of Causeway down Barrett Road in Lawrence as family and friends came out on April 23 to wish their relative and friend Russell Friedman a happy birthday on that Thursday. The social distancing party because of the Covid-19 pandemic included posters and balloons

Friedman, who turned 63, is the founding partner of the Russell Friedman Law Group, a legal practice that focuses on no fault regulations, arbitration and litigation for hospitals and medical professionals. He earned his law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1983 and attained a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Buffalo three years earlier.

Debbie Webster, Friedman’s sister-in-law who organized the celebration said: “We are having a celebration for my brother-in-law’s birthday because life does exist and we are a family.”
