Congregation Beth Emeth in Hewlett received a thank you from the students of the Ohel Sarah’s Girls’ School in Rosh Haayin, Israel, for the books that were donated through the “Books for Israel” project.

The girls wrote they greatly benefitted from the donation of English books for

their library as more than 400 students use them regularly to practice their English reading and comprehension skills.

“They have become an integral part of our learning curriculum and I cannot sufficiently express how much they are appreciated,” Ori Fine, the school’s principal wrote.

Beth Emeth also would like to thank community residents for providing books, Marilyn Schamroth and others at the synagogue for collecting and packing the books, and the Nassau Herald for advertising the project, which the congregation plans on conducting again.
