Hewlett High School will be giving their class of 2020 a proper final sendoff with multiple in-person graduation ceremonies set to take place across two days.

In a letter to students and parents from Hewlett High principal William Galati, he said that the school will hold three graduation ceremonies per day on June 29 and 30 at the times of 9 a.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Each graduate is allowed to have a maximum of two guests.

Gov. Cuomo announced on June 7 that in-person graduation ceremonies with a maximum of 150 people would be allowed starting on June 26. The school has already hosted a vehicle caravan that began at Hewlett Elementary School and ended high school campus on June 5.

Galati noted that social distancing protocols must be followed as all attendees must wear a face or mask covering at all times. Graduates can remove their masks upon receiving their diplomas and when the photographer takes their picture. Per Center of Disease Control guidelines, graduates will not be allowed to throw their graduation caps at the conclusion of the ceremony.

The rain dates for the ceremonies are July 1 and 2.
