The Hewlett Lawrence Blue Jaguars, who finished in first place in their division by going undefeated for the Fall 2009 season, have also won the Sportsmanship Award for the Fall 2009 season. The award was presented recently by the Long Island Junior Soccer League at their annual convention and is based on several factors, including how the players conduct themselves on the field and how the parents and coaches conduct themselves on the sidelines.

The team consists of, from left, Rachel Vadhan, Alexandra Rudish, Georgina Hudja, Natalie Leger, Opal Mor, Sasha Unger, Carly Rivlin, Amanda Greene, Gabrielle Schwartz, Julie Troyetsky  and Allison May. The coaches, in front row, from left, Jay Rivlin, Michael Freiman and Keith Colton. Team members not pictured are Samantha Acriche, Genny Freiman, Carli Green and Gabrielle Korin. The Blue Jaguars play divisional match-ups with travel soccer teams from all over Long Island and has a roster of players from the Hewlett-Woodmere, Lawrence and Lynbrook school districts.
