Police arrested two men on July 28 for the alleged robbery of a Valley Stream man that occurred three days earlier.

The man, 20, was at his Stuart Road home, when Mark Gobetz, 19, of Broadway in Hewlett, an acquaintance of the man, got him to the rear yard of the house at 10 a.m. on July 25, where Jahkim Marson, 18, of Seabury Street in Westbury, confronted the victim and told him he had a gun, police said.

Marson then removed car keys from the victim’s pocket and went into his 1998 Oldsmobile, and took a wallet containing an unspecified amount of cash, according to police. Marson then led the man back into the house and ransacked the bedrooms taking an iPod and Xbox 360 game console, police said. Marson told the victim to pay Gobetz $20 a week or they would return.

Gobetz and Marson left in a black 2000 BMW. On Thursday, Fifth Squad detectives arrested both men at their homes. They are charged with robbery-first degree, burglary-first degree, robbery-second degree and attempted grand larceny-second degree. They were arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
