Hewlett native and former Cornell lacrosse player Max Seibald was part of Team USA that captured a gold medal and its seventh world title at the World Lacrosse Championships held in Manchester, England on July 24.

Seibald, last year's Tewaaraton Trophy winner for best college player, was on the field for a 12-10 victory over Canada and part of an offense that frustrated its neighbor to the north in the latter part of the game that despite pulling their goalie and having an extra field player could not gain possession from Seibald and teammate Matt Zash.
