Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association meets at Ciao Bella

The Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association held its first official meeting with the new board on March 12. It was hosted by Mike Pantano and Freddy Sammarone at their Hewlett restaurant, Ciao Bella.

More than 35 people attended Monday’s meeting. The group formed from the merger of the Hewlett Business Association and the Woodmere Merchants Association.

Newly installed president, Stephen Anchin of Jan Kalman Realty, introduced the other new association officers. First Vice President Sherry Press of Frost Lock & Cellular, 2nd VP Vassa Halatas-Cohen of Wedding Dresser Couture, 3rd VP Luigi Muto of Alfie’s La Cucina restaurant, Treasurer Craig Spatz of Signature Bank, Recording Secretary Michael Ludwig of Citibank and Corresponding Secretary David Torn of Minuteman Press.

Committee chairs were appointed for the following committees: BID (Business improvement District), technology, beautification, events, members and advertising.

The next meeting will be on Monday, April 2. The venue has yet to be selected. An installation brunch will be on Sunday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Woodmere Club.
