Hewlett-Woodmere library's $6.2 million budget approved

On Tuesday evening, the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library's 2013-'14 budget passed with 233 votes, according to Director Susan de Sciora.

The budget is $6,239,089; an increase of $276,465 over the current budget of $5,962,624.

Trustee Ben Eilbott, a 54-year Hewlett resident, was also elected with 282 votes for a five-year term, which will begin July 1.

The tax levy cap, the amount of money to be raised by taxes, will be 1.99 percent, or $5,881,269, de Sciora said.
