Lawrence High school transformed into art gallery

Lawrence public schools held the opening of its district-wide art show at the high school on May 30. Students in pre-kindergarten to 12th grade created the work that is on display.

For more than a decade, the art show has been exhibited at Lawrence Middle School, but this year’s show was held at the high school to show off the renovations made to the building after it was damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

High school Principal Dr. Jennifer Lagnado said she hopes having the art show at her school becomes a tradition. Many of the teachers supported the change of venue, which transformed hallways and the arts common area into a art gallery.
