Goldie Occhiuzzo lit candles in remembrance of those who have given their lives for our country at a dinner hosted by Cedarhurst American Legion Post 339 honoring disabled veterans.
Cedarhurst American Legion Post 339 hosted a dinner for disabled veterans on Oct. 28 at Pompei Restaurant in West Hempstead as a precursor to this year’s Veteran's Day. The family of Sgt. Deon Taylor, who lost his life in service to our country, was honored with a standing ovation and a plaque at the dinner. A number of veterans from St. Albans Veterans Home were recognized during a post-dinner ceremony as well.
