Sanitary District 1 has compiled a tips list to help ensure the collection of trash and recyclables during the winter weather.

With the recent spate of inclement weather, Sanitary District 1, has some tips for the residents it serves to assist in collecting trash and recyclables.
— Have a clear path to all garbage pails.
— Consider using dark colored bags so they are visible against snow-covered ground.
— Collections in inclement weather may take longer.
Sanitary District 1 pickup will be operating at its regular schedule by Thursday of this week.
Sanitary District 1 serves the Villages of Cedarhurst, Hewlett, Hewlett Bay Park, Hewlett Harbor, Hewlett Neck, Inwood, Lawrence, Woodmere, Woodsburgh and portions of the unincorporated areas of Lynbrook and Green Acres.
