Overcast Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department has a new chief

The Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department swore in a new chief as Michael Beilinson took the oath of office on Jan. 7. Beilinson succeeds Chief James McHugh, the son of ex-chief John McHugh.
For more than 100 years, the LCFD, an all-volunteer firefighting and emergency response unit, has served the villages of Cedarhurst and Lawrence and the Lawrence North Fire District.
