Light Rain Lynbrook bank robber caught in Hewlett

The man who allegedly robbed a bank in Lynbrook was caught by police in Hewlett.

A Medford man who allegedly robbed a bank in Lynbrook on Oct. 21 at 2:50 p.m., was arrested a short time later in Hewlett, according to police.
Gaetano Delia, 53, of Ash Drive, entered Bank of America at 300 Merrick Road and made verbal demands for money to several tellers, police said. After getting an unspecified amount of cash, he fled the bank.
A short time later Lynbrook police officers found Delia on Broadway and Stewart Street in Hewlett and arrested him without incident. The money was recovered.
He was charged with robbery-second degree and arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Oct. 22.
