Posted

Actor and Activist Mike Farrell, best known for his eight-year run as B.J. Hunnicutt on the TV show “M*A*S*H,” was the guest speaker at the National Council Jewish Women (NCJW) luncheon at the Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre in East Rockaway on Sept. 24. A boutique that raised money for NCJW programs preceded the lunch and talk.

Farrell spoke to approximately 300 NCJW members about his time on “M*A*S*H,” what spurred him to become an activist and the social issues and human rights he advocates for.

He has served on human rights and peace delegations to places such as Israel, Gaza and the Western Bank, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and countries in Central America, Europe and Africa.

An author of two books, “Just Call Me Mike: A Journey from Actor to Activist,” and “Of Mule and Man,” Farrell also stared on the TV show “Providence” and has written, directed and produced.
